Customers say
Customers find the RFID ring works well, particularly with Hornady safes and HID keyfobs, and appreciate its perfect fit and quality. The durability receives mixed feedback, with several customers noting it’s prone to breaking and has a poor resin coating. Programming experiences are mixed, with some finding it easy while others couldn’t program it. The range and sizing accuracy also get mixed reviews, with some praising the range while others report weak signal strength, and some finding the sizing accurate while others say it’s inaccurate.

Works great and looks best after wet sanding
Works great. I’m 6’2″ 245lbs, athletic, fits my first fingers on both hands and middle finger of left. I got bigger knuckles than my fingers and this glides. Comfortably and removes how it should.I do not have an RF copier. There are only a few rings on Amazon that are programmed like this one. The other one is a silver meteorite design. I programmed it to my Hornady RF rifle/shotgun safe. Works flawless like this companies silver one too .I wet sanded mine with 320 and higher grit to make it matte with the outer parts still glossy. This was achieved without taping. Just sand away.

Broke in 6 months. Unreliable up until then. Skip this one
First ring I received I could not program. I could not read or write it, with a couple of different devices. Thankfully Amazon makes exchanging it super easy, and I got a replacement the day after I requested it.I had no issue writing a code to the replacement ring, and the first couple of times I used it it worked great. Fast forward a few weeks later, and it still works…usually. I programmed it to work with both a gun safe and the door system at my work.Fortunately, it works much more reliably with the safe, but unlike even the cheapest of key fobs I’ve tried at my work, it has to be touching the sensor, and even then I often have to run it side to side a few times before it will read it.Overall I’m satisfied, but I wish it were a tad more reliable.UPDATE: Less than 6 months later it broke. Not even sure when it happened. I was sitting at work, and felt it pinching. took it off and there is copper wire exposed on the back and a giant chunk of the ring missing. Add poor durability to its highly unreliable performance.

Sizing is tricky, but it works
I used this to successfully clone a Mifare Classic 1k key fob using proxmark3. This required that I order the “UID 13.56MHz” version. Keep in mind this ring is a “Gen1a” device. The 13.56MHz version comes coded with a UID and data on it already, but all of that can be overwritten as needed using any number of tools in just a few seconds. Or you can use it as-is, depending on your application. Setup was easy once I figured out how to read and then write the data. The sizing is…a bit unusual. My ring size is a US 11, so the sizing chart said I should get a “21mm” ring.I ordered the 21mm and placed it on an actual jewler’s ring mandrel once it arrived to determine its US size. I would say it’s just a hair under a US size 11. More like a “US 10.75” – see the attached photo. This is lightweight, made of ceramic, and a “comfort fit,” meaning that the edges of the hole are flared outwards a bit to avoid any hard edges. I worry about the durability of the ceramic based on the experiences of other reviewers here, however you really don’t have many options in the materials department with these types of rings. This ring feels a bit expensive for what it does, particularly given its potential durability issues. Time will tell if it holds up or just falls apart.

Functional but not durable.
***Update 2023.09***My 2nd one just shattered on me. You can get by gluing the broken edges for a while, but once big chunks start coming off you will loose the chip and functionality. My 2nd ring lasted much longer (about a year), but I was also much more careful with it and got in the habit of taking it off during the day since night time is the only time I need to use it.I’ll do a bit more searching, but will probably buy a 3rd ring if I don’t find a more durable option.***Original Review***I bought this to use with my quick access safe (I purchased a programmed version). Within a few minutes of opening it I had it programmed into my safe and loving it! You do have to get very close to the scanner, but that is not a negative for me.After a few weeks I noticed a LOT of scratches on the surface of the ring. Not a big deal for me since I bought it for utility, not looks. About 3 months in I noticed a small chip was missing from the edge, which again was not the end of the world. I filled it with some glue and sanded it smooth so it wouldn’t rub or cut my finger. At 4 months a HUGE chunk of it broke off, leaving sharp edges on the inside of the ring and a bunch of the copper wire exposed. I am currently seeing if I can get by with some kind of repair.I LOVE the functionality of this thing! With 5 little kids in the house it is great to know that they can’t get into my safe, but I can at a moments notice without having to worry about carrying a key, fob, combo code, or finicky biometrics. I don’t know if I will purchase a replacement knowing it will only last 4-6 months, but since I don’t know of any other similarly priced product that is better constructed out there I am leaning towards yes. Is it worth $8/month?

Nice quality card ring
So I’ve been searching for the perfect T5577 ring for the card readers at work. I hate having to dig out my ID card or wear a lanyard only to keeping pulling it out at every door. I like rings, so this was a win/win for me. I initially had one of those R5 rings and while nice having 6 writeable cards, I realized I only really used one. The R5 was big and bulky and only had three sizes. But this ring is super lightweight, very slim and comes in many sizes. It feels like a regular wedding band or something of that size, but lighter. I hardly feel it on my finger. It was easily writeable, and works very well on the the doors here at work. Now I can just fist bump the key lock and I don’t have to fumble around for a key card. Looks VERY stylish, has a nice two tone subtle color to it. I highly recommend this ring if you are looking for something like this. The ring size is true to size when ordering, so make sure you measure your finger the correct way. Very happy with this purchase, probably will buy a few more for backups.

I have been using this as my daily for opening doors around work, the only two downsides are:It is pricey for an RFID tag (but I knew that when I bought it)The ring is the coil, makes sense right? But then how do you align the coil with the reader?I’ve found there is an angle that works okay with most readers but you cannot simply walk up to readers and ‘fist bump’ them because then the ring is at 90% to the reader and it won’t pick up.EDIT: Nearly a year later, it’s still working.EDIT EDIT: It is April 2025, it is still, still working.
