Glitchy from day one, but still the best pump.
First of all, this thing has glitches. They might even start from the first time you use it. Why am I still giving it 5 stars? So far, glitches are all they are, and they’re manageable. The comfort of the breast shields on this pump is by far the best I’ve experienced, and the suction is on par with a hospital pump, even when it’s not plugged in and running portable. I have a large chest, so the rims of pump shields will invariably cut into my breast tissue; these have a soft rim, so it’s more comfy than others. The kit also comes with two sizes of flanges, the second being a smaller size instead of a bigger one (like a Spectra comes with), so that’s a plus for me, since I need the smaller flange. The extras are nice, like the little bottle holder and the freezer pack – I’ve definitely used these. The pump is overall quite portable and I can generally pump at least twice without charging it, which I don’t usually do, because of the glitches. Which I’ll go into now.The glitches seem to be related to the power cord or the connection with the cord. You need to really watch when it’s plugged in and make sure it’s making a connection – you should see the little lightning bolt to indicate it’s plugged in, and it should stay steadily lit. If it’s not, you need to unplug it and replug it, mess with the cord position, whatever works. You will definitely see the thing come on with CALL on the display, indicating it’s broken and you need to call customer service. If it’s plugged in when that happens, unplug it, then turn it off. When you turn it back on, it should be fine again. If not, turn off again and back on again until it clears. It happens to me multiple times a day, from day one, but so far it hasn’t been actually broken and I haven’t had to really call. It definitely freaked me out the first time it happened, though. As long as the glitches stay mere annoyances, I’m very satisfied with this pump. It’s as comfortable as pumping can get, portable, powerful even without being plugged in, and as effective as a Symphony. It takes a little patience sometimes, but it’s overall very worth the price to me. (I paid for it, since I got a Spectra with my insurance, and this one wasn’t offered.)

Superior quality pump
I breastfed all three of our kids through 12+ months and was exclusively pump after 3 months with each. This is the only pump I will use. It is comfortable and works better than other brands.

Fantastic Pump for Efficiency and Comfort
I absolutely love my Medela Sonata! Iâve read that itâs like the little sister to the Symphony, and I definitely agreeâit has more suction power compared to other Medela pumps. One of my favorite features is that it comes with a battery, so I donât feel plugged into the wall all the time, but still get excellent suction. While itâs not a wearable pump (and as someone with a larger chest, wearables arenât really for me), itâs incredibly convenient and efficient. The flanges and mechanisms are fantastic! Some people think it has too many pieces, but I disagreeâthere are only four parts to clean, and they have minimal nooks and crannies, so thereâs very little scrubbing involved. I also love how sleek and compact the design is.As for the app, Iâm not a fan. I think Medela could improve it, but honestly, I donât use it much since the pump itself works so well. The pump is pretty quiet, lightweight, and has multiple settings for expression mode that you can easily adjust during your pumping session. It also has a handy timer to automatically turn off, so you donât overdo it.I highly recommend this pump if you’re looking to increase your supply. Overall, itâs been an excellent addition to my routine. Happy pumping!

Comparable to the hospital-grade Medela Symphony.
This is an all-around great pump. I used a medela symphony for the first few weeks of my babyâs life and needed to find a replacement when I no longer had access to the symphony. This pump is very comparable to the symphony if not even better due to additional features such as a timer and ability to take the pump anywhere. I was afraid the pump would be a little awkward to lug around but it isnât too bad and it turned out to be smaller than I expected, smaller than my hand! I find my milk production is the same with this pump as it was when I used the symphony which is especially important for me because I donât have a great supply. The suction pattern is the same as the symphony but the power is a little less (though itâs plenty powerful – I rarely use the highest power setting.) Lastly, itâs not silent but certainly not loud enough to wake my sleeping baby. If youâre looking for something comparable to the hospital-grade Medela Symphony – Iâd say this is your best bet!

So in love
First pump and I am re in love this is my second one and my first lasted 4 years of pumping and I finally feel like I can survive exclusively pumping again. The sound of turning it on brought back memories and it is as good as I remember. And the extra perks of the app are amazing

I love it for the price I paid.
It seems these have been discontinued, and it may have been a “closeout” price when I got mine. But there may still be some old stock for sale at various pricesI am very happy with the pump for the price I paid. However, reading the manual it seems this is not such a heavy-duty pump: “The operating life of this breast pump is defined to be approximately three 15-minute sessions per day, for one year” Not great is exclusively pumping, but probably fine for occasional use. If I had paid list price, I’d be disappointed (but I didn’t pay that much)

Short lifespan, no repair options. Not worth the cost!
I pumped less than average for most moms- once per day while establishing my supply and then only for replacement feeds a couple times a week. After 8 weeks, the most I may have pumped was 4-5 times per week.I used this pump for 8 months(I didnât the math, for me, that was 120-150 uses) before the suction tanked. By the time I tried increasing my supply and replacing the parts, it had been over a year from the purchase date and they wonât repair it. I have found no other options for repair.

Great idea, but has a few kinks. Not the best option for those who have to pump every 2-3 hours as there are a lot of pieces to the pump and hard to do the fridge hack. Additionally, if you do not assemble the pump correctly, ie., donât push the membrane in all the way, the pump pauses, but it doesnât indicate what the issue is. It just stops and youâre left guessing what you did wrong.Battery life is okay, although I found you could only pump 2-3x (for about 15 mins average) on a single charge.Couldnât pair both cups. Only one of the cups would pair to Bluetooth. You also cannot pump while itâs charging, which isnât great if you use it a lot/donât have time to fully charge between use. And you cannot see how much it is charged unless it is paired, you unplug, turn it on and check the app.Would like to see it come with a case, it should indicate whatâs wrong in the assembly via the app so you can troubleshoot and keep pumping.

This device has genuinely transformed my pumping. It’s ultra-slim, shaped well and very light (just 200 g). It fits snugly in a regular pumping bra, which lets me move, multitask, or rest hands-free with zero discomfort or leaks. The Innovative Fluid Feel Technology surrounds the nipple with warm milk and maintains a constant, gentle latch, making the experience feel natural and reducing movement-related irritation.Itâs impressively silent and includes sensors that automatically shift between stimulation and expression modes, keeping pumping efficient without needing manual adjustments.Night Mode with tunnel lighting is surprisingly useful for late-night sessions, and the transparent cup helps with perfect alignment even in low light.Even though the app could be finnicky at times it does allow for connectivity which means I am able to control the settings and track sessions right from my phone.
